Load Balancing – Smart Energy Management by Noodoe
During this Electrification era Transport sector has been growing exponentially. Due to which we have seen a large number of electric vehicles on roads. In addition, this has proved to be an opportunity for business owners to keep up with the ever-increasing demand of charging electric vehicles and ev fast charging. The business owners of many EV Charging stations have discovered major impediments related to the framework that was created in the pre-electrification era.
The biggest problem is the pre-electrification era design of parking structures, which were not able to provide enough power to charge up Electric Vehicles.
This problem is two-fold:
1. Power panel boxes installed are not efficient to provide enough power simultaneously to large number of EV Charging stations.
2. The electric companies may not be immediately ready to source enough power to these EV charging stations without fundamental change in their design. However, this change either could be very expensive or is not possible at all.
Therefore, Load Balancing can help to solve this problem of fulfilling enough power to all EV charging stations via Smart Energy Management service offered by Noodoe Corporation.
What is Load Balancing?
Load Balancing enables you to install number of EV Charging stations with an unaffected electric capacity. Under this process, electricity is distributed among all Electric vehicles equally.
How Load Balancing works via Smart Energy Management from Noodoe Corp?
Without Noodoe EV Smart Energy Management, although this location has more spots available, it is only able to install four 32A* charging stations due to the limits of the electrical capacity of 160A at the existing site.
Let us understand this with an example that how Noodoe’s EV Smart Energy Management allows for installing 6 EV charging stations by dynamically shifting energy to vehicles that need it most, while constantly monitoring and maintaining the total load under the limit of the electrical panel.
1. In the image above it is clear when the first EV comes in, it will be charged with full 1 power of 32A.
2. When additional EVs comes in – 2nd EV, 3rd EV, and fourth EV, they are all charged at full power of 32A. The system at this point is drawing the full available power for charging EVs.
3. However, as the fifth EV comes to the picture, the Smart Energy Management starts to kick in. With this innovative Noodoe’s Technology the output for each EV is calculated and adjusted to provide equal power (26A) to every vehicle and help the electric power to stay within the limit of the electric panel. Here, the Noodoe EV smart management system sends the important instructions to the EV chargers, it continues to dynamically monitor the consumption rate of each charger to ensure compliance, and makes any essential changes in real time to ensure that each Electric Vehicle is charged to the optimum and side by side keeping the total output under the limit of 160A.
4. As and when the sixth EV arrives and charged simultaneously with other 5 EVs, the output to each EV will be calculated again and dropped to 22A. Noodoe EV Smart Energy Management continue to monitor the power consumption and adjusts the output accordingly as more energy becomes available when other chargers complete energy transfer.
5. When Noodoe EV Smart Energy Management detects that an EV is fully charged and no longer requires power, e.g. when the first EV is charged fully and leaves, Noodoe’s Smart Energy Management System will increase the energy output from 22A to 26A across the remaining five charging vehicles automatically.
Key Features:
• Utilizes smart algorithms and intelligent monitoring of chargers to balance their electrical usage while ensuring that total electrical output stays within safe range.
• Eliminates the need for electrical upgrades.
• Doesn’t require additional physical wiring for implementation.
• Optimizes the usage of available power from the utility, while protecting the local electrical systems from dangers of overloading even when multiple chargers are being used simultaneously.
• Offers flexible implementation options to suit your ideal number of chargers.
